Konami is developing games again?

The giant company seems to be increasing the production of its flagship premium games

Konami is reportedly working to revive some of its major franchises. Based on a recent report from VGC (Video Games Chronicle), Konami is stepping up developments on its newest projects in the Castlevania, Metal Gear, and Silent Hill series, including the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3.

1.castlevania

After restructuring its game development division earlier this year, Konami focuses on bringing its biggest brand back into the premium gaming space, said VGC. The first of these titles is the new Castlevania game, which the source describes as a “reimagining” of the series currently being worked on internally at Konami in Japan and has support from local external studios.

2.silent hill

After all, VGC reiterated that several Silent Hill games are in development, with one at a “leading” Japanese developer. Most people believe that Team Bloober Poland is working on another Silent Hill game after recently announcing a partnership between the two companies.

We have contacted Konami for comment on this development. Developers have recently made small steps towards game development with new consoles, apart from setting up a western publishing division. The giant company also restructured its games division earlier this year to make it more efficient.

He Virtuos company is reportedly working on a Metal Gear revival. This significant backing studio has been instrumental in many other games. Jedi: Fallen Order, The Last of Us Part 2, Devil May Cry, NBA 2K20, and League of Legends are also part of this development. Led the co-development of the Switch versions of Dark Souls Remastered, BioShock Collection, and The Outer Worlds. It also contributed some exciting art for Uncharted 4, Battlefield 1, and Horizon Zero Dawn.

VGC reports that the Metal Gear upgrade project is in the early stages of development. This development will be “centered around” Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater rather than the modern entry. We can’t be 100% sure what that means. I predict it might follow more Metal Gear Solid style Big Boss 5 exploits.

If that’s still not enough Metal Gear, the big company is also reportedly planning to release a remaster of the original game before releasing the major revival.
