Twitch Co-Founder Hits NFT Scam, Loss Up To 150 Thousand USD!

what!, How come

There is surprising news coming from Twitch, the information seems to be related to the recent NFT trend. After successfully opening a new platform for NFT needs, this time the Co-Founder of Twitch was hit by an NFT SCAM and cost him up to 150 thousand USD. So, what is their next strategy? Let's follow the discussion of Gamedaim News below,

About a week ago, Twitch Co-Founder Justin Kan just launched a platform called Fractal. The platform serves as a Media to sell various types of NFT. You can sell your drawings or In-Game items through the Fractal platform to get Crypto currency. Given that the platform itself has only been released for a week, of course the platform is still in the development phase.

Discord Twitch Fractal Scam and Lost 150.000 USD

Not even a month has been released, the server of Discord Fractal was suddenly hacked by hackers who used bots to spread links from fake NFT ads to several people. After that, the Scammers surprisingly managed to sell 3,294 NFT before the Server was officially closed. We got the report directly through well-known Twitch analyst Zach Bussey through his Twitter account.

People who have already entered the link do not get NFT at all, but instead lose 150 thousand USD or about 2.1 billion Rupiah. This figure was calculated from the number of victims as many as 373 users. Justin Kan, of course, could not stand still and decided to immediately make repairs. More than that, it also guarantees that all users affected by the scam will get a refund.

fractal promises refund

The condition for doing a refund is that you are not allowed to delete the wallet when it has been hit by a scam. That way, your balance will be entered automatically and contacted via email. Meanwhile, Justin also did not forget to advise his users to continue to be careful. Interestingly, Justin claimed to be impressed with the Hacker because he managed to hook 3% of users out of a total of 100,000 existing members.

Incidents like this will serve as a lesson for other NFT platforms to further enhance security. Hopefully this problem will not happen again for the second time. What is your opinion on this? Can we still rely on this Fractal platform for the future?
